About Christina
I’m Christina Reynolds, the founder of Break Glass Strategic Communications. I’ve spent my career as an advocate for progressive causes. I have managed large-scale communications operations and strategic efforts from the campaign trail to the White House. For 25 years, I have driven campaigns large and small, with experience in communications, press, research and strategy.
I started my career in campaign research, where I worked to find the narrative among the facts and history. In research, I learned how to anticipate what was coming and map out the best way through the obstacles. I learned that when the crisis happened, the best operatives stayed calm, worked their plan and adjusted to meet the moment.
As a communicator, I have worked at the highest levels of politics with leadership roles in multiple presidential campaigns, in the Obama White House, in campaign committees and at the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, EMILYs List. Over 25 years, I have done trainings, debate preps, principal management, message development, media outreach, and social media. I have built teams and processes, launched campaigns and new leadership, managed an organizational rebrand, worked across departments to amplify major legislation and accomplishments, and co-written and launched a book. My media appearances include MSNBC, PBS, NPR, CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, Vogue, TIME, Elle, Huffington Post, Politico and many more.
In the private sector, I worked with Fortune 500 companies, trade associations, advocacy organizations and non-profits to design public affairs campaigns and manage crisis responses. I helped Hollywood studios and Oscar-winning artists navigate film and tv releases. I led media trainings and executed table-top exercises and media campaigns.
In my spare time, I love changing the face of the electorate, talking about women in politics, baking, visiting bookstores, and rescuing dogs. A proud Tar Heel and Marine brat, I studied journalism and political science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I am proud to serve on the Advisory Board for the Hussman School of Journalism and Media. I am the co-author, with former EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock, of Run to Win: Lessons in Leadership for Women Changing the World.
